This webinar will deal with the topic of spatial organization and mobility in relation to the mobility patterns. We will highlight challenges in sustainable transportation and mobility patterns, such as urban changes, ecological transition, socio-demographic changes, technological changes, governance. The Covid-19 emergency will also be a great challenge for the world to come and this webinar is the opportunity to discuss its implications. The seminar will also present possible trends and scenarios that were identified in the light of the challenges to sustainable transportation, and how cities can be better prepared and organised to improve on mobility and its management. About the speaker
Patrick Rérat is a full professor in geography of mobilities at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He has been a visiting researcher in several European universities such as King’s College London and HafenCity University Hamburg. His research focuses on residential mobility and everyday mobility in the perspective of sustainability. His latest publications have addressed utility cycling, teleworking, car-free living as well as the renewed residential attractiveness of cities.
