The projects

SUCCESS is an H2020 project which focuses on supply chain management improvements and more specifically on construction consolidation centres (CCC). SUCCESS explores how these concepts can offer tested and replicable solutions to address problems in construction supply chains, particularly regarding distribution networks, construction sites and reverse logistics.

UrbanWise is a project at regional level (part of the digital policy of the Walloon Region and Brussels Region), whose aim is the development of a collaborative solution for improving transport and worksite logistics. UrbanWise Construction is proposing a collaborative solution enabling transport and worksite logistics to be improved by better communication between various actors (suppliers, contractors, waste collectors).

Background on the workshop

Many European cities and regions have planned and are undertaking important urban development and regeneration projects and construction logistics is a critical factor to ensure minimizing the impacts of construction sites in urban areas. The SUCCESS project contributes answering this challenge by delivering research activities, tests and policy recommendations aimed at optimising the construction supply chain and helping authorities in reducing construction sites’ transport impacts.

This restricted workshop & joint event with UrbanWise involves selected European cities and regions to discuss solutions and practices in city logistics for the construction sector. It is part of the SUCCESS take-up programme aimed at discussing the applicability of the project results to European cities and regions.
