On May 7th, CEI, in collaboration with Network Wins, organized the workshop “Unlocking innovation in urban logistics: the role of stakeholders’ governance”, as part of the GRETA project.

After Alice Benini, Project Manager at ITL, introduced GRETA, Professor Andrea Stocchetti from Ca’ Foscari University opened the session with a keynote speech full of insights on the topic. Andrea Ballarin then moderated a conversation among four urban logistics projects. Partners from GRETA, GREEN-LOGFlexCurbDISCO and DECARBOMILE had the opportunity to share their experiences with various tools and strategies for stakeholder engagement, discussing what they consider to be the most effective methods.

Speakers emphasized the importance of involving stakeholders from the early planning stages of solutions, while also acknowledging the challenges of engaging multiple actors in urban logistics, often with differing interests. In particular, access to and collection of data, as well as limited funding and space, were identified as major challenges. Proposed solutions included a collaborative approach, appropriate flexibility in adopting suitable governance models, and transparent communication.

Thanks to the diverse and practical perspectives of the speakers and participants, the workshop fostered a valuable dialogue on how to successfully engage and work with stakeholders.
