On March 17th and 18th, ITL took part in the third General Assembly of the Horizon Europe project Shift2Zero, held at Alkè’s headquarters in Padua.

During the meeting, progress across the different Work Packages was presented, alongside discussions and exchanges on upcoming challenges. At project level, the survey on transport operators’ needs regarding eLCVs (electric Light Commercial Vehicles) was completed, providing a solid foundation for the next design and prototype development phases. The first results were already presented during the first day.

The discussion then focused on digital tools for the efficient management of loads and routes for Shift2Zero eLCVs, as well as on the key indicators used to measure the impact of the proposed solutions.

ITL contributed by organizing a workshop dedicated to the analysis of the different pilot contexts, with the aim of understanding which data are currently collected, in which areas (economic, social, environmental), and which additional impact dimensions the pilots intend to monitor, beyond the project’s three main objectives:

  • a 10% reduction in operational costs;
  • a 1–3% reduction in emissions, measured at project level on the aggregated data of all pilots;
  • the replacement of three conventional vehicles with one eLCV.

During the meeting, two site visits were also organized: the first at Alkè’s facilities, where vehicle assembly and customization take place, and the second at one of Gruber’s warehouses, where a guided tour provided participants with a detailed overview of logistics services and inbound and outbound operations.
