Last week, ITL attended the first Study Visit organised by REFOCUS in Thessaloniki and hosted by CERTH, the project Lead Partner.

On the first day, THEMA took partners on a tour of Thessaloniki’s fully automated and driverless metro, which currently serves the central and eastern parts of the city and is being expanded to further improve Thessaloniki’s public transportation network.

The second day focused on the presentation of the 3 Good Practices which CERTH is implementing within the project:

  • Data Fusion and Dynamic Traffic Management
  • Monitoring energy consumption and emissions in the city through the ENIGMA platform
  • 4-step model for strategic decision making

Partners also took part in two workshops and visited CERTH’s Smart Mobility Living Lab, which collects and processes mobility data from different sources, including traffic signals and taxis.

The meeting provided valuable insights into innovative urban mobility solutions, which will contribute to REFOCUS’ goal of making urban mobility more sustainable and efficient.
