On Tuesday, July 15th, ITL took part in the event “Port Workers’ Mobility: Data, Projects, and Solutions for Improving Systematic Worker Commuting”, hosted by the Central-Northern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority.
The day began with institutional greetings from the Port Authority and the Municipality of Ravenna, followed by an update from Fondazione ITL on the progress of two important local projects, GreenPATH and Lab MOVE-UP. Both initiatives share the same challenges and objectives: improving the commuting experience for port workers, promoting alternatives to private cars, encouraging the use of more sustainable and shared mobility options, and expanding the implementation of Mobility Management policies.
Next, the Emilia-Romagna Region presented its ongoing initiatives and developments in Mobility Management, while MobilitySquare showcased a demo of EMMA, the platform developed by the Piedmont Region for collecting and analyzing essential data to draft Home-Work Travel Plans.
Finally, Redas Engineering and NIER Ingegneria shared an in-depth analysis of the port area’s accessibility, proposing concrete solutions to increase sustainable mobility.
Thanks to the contributions of all participants, stakeholders, and local representatives, the meeting fostered a productive discussion on the progress and challenges related to home-work mobility in the Ravenna port area.
