SULPiTER (Sustainable Urban Logistics Planning To Enhance Regional Freight Transport) aims to increase the integration of logistics and freight transport in SUMPs.
The project includes the following activities:
- Improving the skills of local authorities through a better understanding of the dynamics of freight distribution in FUAs
- Developing a tool to understand how different areas of the city interact and identifying critical points in terms of freight transport demand
- Strengthening dialogue between institutions and between institutions and businesses to jointly create future low-emission policies
- Creating public/private working groups in each partner site
- Defining long-term political actions with a cross-sectoral and intersectoral approach
In particular, the cities of Bologna, Budapest, Poznan, Brescia, Stuttgart, Maribor, and Rijeka are developing analytical and governance tools aimed at improving or adopting policies for sustainable freight transport.
ITL coordinates the project and, in particular, collaborates with the Metropolitan City of Bologna in local project activities and in the development of the SULP. The Foundation also coordinates the participation of associated partners, the Municipality of Bologna and the Emilia-Romagna Region.
