Description
REFOCUS (Regional and Local Mobility Planning Focusing on Inclusive Decision Support Tool) brings together 10 partners from 7 EU countries, with the aim of improving policies through the exchange of experiences between regions and local authorities on the topic of zero-emission sustainable mobility. Specifically, the project focuses on new approaches to transport planning based on innovative Decision Support Tools (DSTs) and on how to strengthen planning and monitoring in the field of sustainable mobility through a data-driven approach.
The project’s areas of action are the following:
- Enhancing regional and local planning capacity for inclusive decision-making on zero-emission mobility, to ensure the transition to the next generation of SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans)
- Accelerating the implementation of SUMP measures and innovations (following common technical specifications when necessary, prioritizing interventions, ensuring regional integration and continuity of measures, and making more efficient use of resources)
- Ensuring effective monitoring of mobility trends in different local/regional contexts for efficient data management; increasing data-driven decision-making skills for the continuous planning and replanning required by SUMPs
To create a common knowledge framework among REFOCUS territories, in a post-pandemic mobility era, on:
- Policies (cities’ local SUMPs, as well as regional policy) related to planning in sustainable urban mobility (SUM)
- Decision-making and data-oriented tool for zero-carbon sustainable mobility planning and monitoring
