Description
PROMETEO (Promoting Mobility and Transparency for Fourth Level Logistics and Transport Qualifications) aims to promote the dissemination and application of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) to facilitate and ensure the mobility of trainees and workers in the logistics and transport sector. The definition of professional qualifications according to European “rules” allows for the recognition of acquired skills across all European Union countries, making Europe a single labor market for citizens in all Member States.
Specifically, the project seeks to bridge the gap between training supply and demand by identifying and defining EQF Level 4 qualifications related to transport and logistics, enhancing the skills of workers and trainees, and ultimately reducing, in particular, the youth unemployment rate. The professional qualifications will be defined in accordance with the principles of the ECVET system, using the methodology developed within the CENTRAL project.
For each qualification, training modules and corresponding topics will be outlined to enable national training institutions to develop appropriate activities. Additionally, a specific objective of the project is to define the “training scale,” meaning the ideal training path for career development. The Level 4 qualifications will be based on key competencies of certain EQF Level 5 professional profiles.
The Level 5 qualifications referenced in the project include the freight forwarding agent (defined within the CENTRAL project) and two additional profiles, selected from existing national qualifications and through a sectoral training needs analysis. The goal is to facilitate professional growth and mobility, not only horizontally (acquiring competencies for a specific EQF level across different EU countries) but also vertically (progressing between different qualification levels).
ITL is the project Lead Partner and is specifically responsible for defining training units based on the identified qualifications. ITL also leads the work package related to result valorisation, planning and implementing dissemination tools.
