Description

MIMOSA (Maritime and Multimodal Sustainable Passenger Transport Solutions and Services) aims to improve the availability of sustainable and multimodal passenger transport solutions by promoting a new cross-border approach to passenger mobility in Italy and Croatia.

Currently, passenger connections between Croatia and Italy face several bottlenecks and a lack of high-quality solutions capable of competing with private car travel, which remains the most commonly used option for cross-border journeys. The project area is primarily served by road services and limited connections to inland areas, highlighting a significant need to reduce the environmental impact of passenger transport by promoting greener and more intermodal transport solutions.

This approach would provide citizens and tourists with a broader range of sustainable mobility options, better suited to meet transport demand as well as passenger habits and needs.

ITL coordinates the activities concerning the analysing and piloting of new sustainable mobility solutions, aimed at enhancing sustainable transport modes, combining various modes of transport within the same transport experience/chain and developing and testing innovative pilots. Such activities provide technical and managerial evidences on how to promote sustainable mobility at the local and regional level. Moreover, ITL coordinates three different pilots in the Romagna area:

  1. Integration of new electric sharing mobility systems with existing integrated regional public transport ticketing systems in Emilia-Romagna
  2. Innovative electric light vehicles sharing service supported by a “Mobile Hub” in Emilia-Romagna
  3. Innovative “Mobile Hub” supporting sharing services to be provided in a more flexible, innovative and economic way

ITL coordinates activities related to the analysis of new sustainable mobility solutions and their implementation in pilot activities, particularly the one developed in Emilia-Romagna.
