Description

Inter-Connect PLUS (Intermodality Promotion and Rail Renaissance in Adriatic – Ionian Region PLUS) aims to update the policies and technical tools previously developed by Inter-Connect in light of new legislation, as well as to assess the impacts of COVID-19 on passenger transport solutions in the ADRION area.

This is achieved by revitalizing the pilot projects developed under Inter-Connect (Igoumenitsa – Region of Epirus, Bologna – Emilia-Romagna Region, Trieste – Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Durres) and incorporating new COVID-19-related regulations, policies, and practices into both action plans and the Inter-Connect toolkit. Additionally, two Inter-Connect case studies will be reviewed and updated.

Communication and engagement with local, national, and regional stakeholders, as well as with citizens, are central to the project. Inter-Connect PLUS also aims to enhance recommendations for the necessary investments to support better connectivity in the ADRION area, leveraging the smart integration of various public transport solutions.

ITL is responsible for activities aimed at understanding the existing best practices in terms of soft measures for a seamless connection of coastal areas to the city centres at regional and national levels and to TEN-T network main nodes. The Foundation also conducts communication and dissemination tasks.
