Description

H2CE is focused on the smart integration of hydrogen solutions and renewable energies into regional energy transitions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across various sectors. The goal of the project is to enable public authorities and administrations in Central Europe to proactively and sustainably incorporate hydrogen into regional planning.

H2CE empowers authorities to proactively and sustainably integrate hydrogen into planning, development, and strategic activities related to regional energy transition. Existing knowledge platforms, resources, and capacities will be integrated within a common development perspective. The project’s ambition is to expand regional focus by including transregional and transnational collaborations within development and decision-making processes.

To this end, the project includes the following activities:

  • Development of strategies and action plans; a set of common indicators has been created and is used to prepare fact sheets on the participating regions and to carry out regional analyses
  • Establishment of regional hydrogen competence centers, which aim to strengthen the capacities of public and private stakeholders involved in the energy transition
  • Creation of a handbook  based on a Geographic Information System (GIS) platform, to be used by public authorities to plan and monitor investments and infrastructure

Additionally, partners organize and participate in various green energy events, providing opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, and promoting the project’s objective.

ITL develops the regional analysis for Emilia-Romagna provides input to the following development of the strategies and action plans, promoting results through the relevant networks in which it is involved. ITL also works on the capacity building process, aiming to increase knowledge in public administrations and nodes. This is crucial in the region and in the Central Europe area to increase acceptance of hydrogen in all the sectors. Lastly, ITL contributes to the creation of synergies between projects and activities in a regional, national and international environment.
