FRAMESPORT (Framework Initiative Fostering the Sustainable Development of Adriatic Small Ports) aims to support the global and sustainable growth of minor ports in the Adriatic Sea through a long-term strategy, enhancing their socio-economic role in the development of coastal areas. The project is based on a structured approach, which includes identifying priority themes to promote within the global strategy and carrying out pilot actions to test new solutions for the development of small ports.
FRAMESPORT implements pilot actions in Italy and Croatia focused on the following themes:
- Development of ICT services and applications
- Infrastructure management and spatial planning
- Energy and environment
- Business-oriented actions
- Training and knowledge enhancement
The project initiatives involve local and national stakeholders to establish a strong connection between project activities and the territories involved. FRAMESPORT also develops a shared ICT platform among partners to collect and systematize data from the involved ports and the results of the pilot actions. The outcomes of these actions and initiatives will form the foundation of the project’s main deliverable: a common strategy dedicated to the development of small ports.
ITL coordinates activities related to services and innovative tools supporting the strategic development of small ports and is also responsible for the pilot actions being developed at the Porto Canale of Rimini.
