Description
CORELOG (Coordinated Regional Logistics) develops strategic transnational guidelines for the creation of regional policies and the implementation of sustainable freight transport through public-private coordination in transport and logistics. The project takes into account the different stakeholders and their needs, the impacts and benefits on territories, and the critical success factors from the experiences of various partners.
CORELOG addresses the following topics:
- Cooperation between businesses in transport and logistics
- Coordination of private and public needs to improve policy-making
- Public policies on transport and logistics
- Enhancing business competitiveness through collaborative actions between companies
- Business needs and strategies related to supply chain management
- Integration of territorial planning and industrial policies in transport and logistics
CORELOG aims to reduce transportation costs and impacts while developing guidelines for policy implementation at a transnational level, replicating best practices across Europe. To achieve this, the project includes the creation of permanent regional logistics forums in different European regions and a Transnational Committee of Business Managers.
The project analyzes the current needs and strategies of companies in supply chain management, as well as their impact on the transport systems of participating regions and existing public policies affecting transport and logistics. Additionally, it defines transnational public policies with a cross-sectoral perspective, integrating various types of policies related to transport, ICT, industry, and territorial planning.
It also implements pilot actions which involve the industrial and transport sectors of each region, along with defining a transnational action plan to enhance business competitiveness and reduce the negative impacts of transport.
