Description
CO-EFFICIENT (Collaborative Framework For Energy Efficient SME Systems) aims to promote innovation and already available technologies for energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources in the activities and production processes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Mediterranean.
A permanent collaborative framework for energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources, connecting SMEs, the R&D sector, and other institutional stakeholders in the Mediterranean area, will enhance collaboration between SMEs and the R&D sector. This will lead to significant behavioral and technological changes in high-energy-efficiency operations and production processes.
The framework, implemented in all partner countries through the establishment of local pilots, will coordinate cross-border living labs active in all partner countries. It will aim to engage R&D organizations, SMEs, and other stakeholders in co-creating new solutions for better energy use in production and operations.
As part of the project, ITL (Istituto sui Trasporti e la Logistica), in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, is promoting the creation of the Logistics Outsourcing Laboratory – Emilia-Romagna, called LOGOUT.LAB. The objective of this initiative is to establish a stable point of reference in the region to raise awareness about logistics optimization, disseminate best practices, and facilitate innovation processes along the region’s production supply chains.
