Today, ITL President Guido Fabbri participated as a speaker at the OMC Med Energy Conference & Exhibition in Ravenna, taking part in the panel “The Role of Local Territories in the Transition: Ports, Industrial Districts, and Decarbonization Projects”, moderated by Andrea Bombardi.

The President discussed, alongside Angelo Aulicino, Simone Pacciardi, Gian Marco Miriello, and Daniele Rossi, the key role of ports and local logistics systems in decarbonization. The conversation focused on the numerous investments being made by the ports of Ravenna, La Spezia, Marina di Carrara, and Trieste aimed at energy transition, as well as the advantages of the new Simplified Logistics Zone (ZLS) in Emilia-Romagna.

Furthermore, President Fabbri highlighted the efforts of Emilia-Romagna to promote modal shift from road to rail transport, thanks to the enhancement of railway lines and stations and container terminals, as well as fiscal and administrative incentives and the development of a regional transport system to promote intermodality and rail transport. In particular, he mentioned the successful example of the ER.I.C. cluster.

The discussion highlighted, above all, the importance of investments in building the necessary infrastructure to meet objectives, and the need for active collaboration with stakeholders and major logistics operators.
