On May 21st and 22nd, the third Di-PEGASUS Project Meeting was held in Cork, hosted by Collins Aerospace. The partners discussed the technologies that the project, now at its midway stage, is developing, including:

an interactive digital platform for the definition of business models

innovative technologies for aircraft fleet and operations management, as well as for ground control stations
In particular, discussions focused on the three Use Cases to be implemented in Italy, France, and Greece starting in May. Participants had the opportunity to exchange views on upcoming activities during a dedicated workshop. ITL is working on the Italian Use Case, which supports the development of Di-PEGASUS technologies by validating them through a simulation of pharmaceutical goods transport using drone swarms to supply rural pharmacies in the Bolognese Apennines. It involves the following technologies:

swarm intelligence to enable multiple drones to make deliveries safely and coordinately, using advanced collision avoidance systems

a new generation control station HMI for AI-tasked drones to optimize fleet monitoring and management;

flexible fleet and operations managemer for efficient allocation and use of resources, including aircraft and ground infrastructure, for on-demand transport services and emergency response.
The meeting was an important opportunity for alignment and discussion among the partners, allowing participants to define the next steps toward the implementation of the technologies developed by Di-PEGASUS. With the launch of the three pilot activities, the project now enters a crucial operational phase.
