The MED COLOURS project is entering a new phase: on 7 July 2026, the project partners met online for the official Kick-off Meeting of the Transfer Phase, aimed at disseminating and applying the methodology developed in the territories involved during the previous testing phase.

The new phase, which started on 1 July 2026 and will run until 31 December 2027, will focus on transferring the project’s results and expertise to new cities across the Mediterranean region. In particular, the activities will support local authorities in developing SULPs, with the aim of promoting more sustainable, resilient and collaborative urban logistics planning.

Fondazione ITL continues to act as Lead Partner, together with OPEN ENLoCC, CERTH-HIT, Zaragoza Logistics Center Foundation, MemEx Srl, the University of Maribor and Lisboa E-Nova. The Transfer Phase expands the project network with the involvement of three new cities – Ferrara (Italy), Maribor (Slovenia) and Granada (Spain) – which will be supported in developing their own SULPs by building on the methodology, tools and experience developed during the previous phase.

In addition to the 10 project partners, the initiative involves 8 Associated Partners: the Municipality of Cesena, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, ALICE, POLIS Network, the Municipality of Koper, Local Public Company Lyon Confluence and the Municipality of Lisbon. In particular, the continued involvement of the cities that participated in the testing phase will help facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge between territories, as well as stakeholder engagement, supporting the uptake of project results in other cities across the Mediterranean.

By extending the application of the MED COLOURS methodology to new territories, this phase will focus on strengthening capacity-building activities and policy support, also through the monitoring of and exchange on SULPs, while continuing to pursue the broader goal of making cities more sustainable and liveable.
