CERTH/HIT, representing Inter-Connect project and the rest projects of the Institute, participated in the annual event of “European Week of Regions and Cities” that took place in the 2nd week of October 2018 (8-11/10), taking part in a great knowledge exchange experience. More than 6.000 participants (European institutions, European regions and cities in regional partnerships, European associations etc) are estimated to have participated in #EURegionsWeek 2018, co-organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR). This year, the European Committee of the Regions and the DG Regional and Urban policy joined forces with 13 other Directorates-General and 3 executive agencies of the European Commission, over 140 regions and cities grouped in 22 regional partnerships, and a number of other stakeholders to prepare an exciting and innovative programme for the European Week of Regions and Cities 2018. The event programme consisted of over 160 workshops, participatory sessions, Q&A sessions and EURegions Talks under the headline of ‘For a strong EU Cohesion Policy beyond 2020’ during the European Week of Regions and Cities.
