The first Inter-connect roundtable

The first roundtable organized into the Inter-Connect project took place on the 21st of September 2018 during the European Mobility Week 2018 at the PANTHEON Cultural Center of Igoumenitsa.  The dialogue among the participants started with the presentation of the needs of the city as identified within Inter-Connect project.

During the roundtable, the leadpartner, as case representative, stated that the needs to be covered, fully or partially, are: Identification of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats as regards the positioning of Igoumenitsa City at local, regional and national level and at transnational level; Data sources identification for passengers flows at local/regional and transnational level and as for the local case; Rating of Public Transport Attributes; Identification of main poles of attraction/ points of interest inside the case or at its wider area; Stakeholders cooperation and cooperation schemes to be promoted in order to provide a viable public transport bus line.

Purposes of the 1st round table:

  • Collect data and information to support the case study finalization and the definition of a detailed timeplan for its implementation (case examination plan);
  • Collect data/sources that are necessary for the traffic flows analysis (demand and supply data at ADRION and local/regional level);
  • Identify the catchment area of the case studies;
  • Discuss with stakeholders bottlnecks and potential hurdles that can hamper the implementation of the case studies;
  • Support the definition of a list of prioritized measures to streamline public transport and intermodality.

 

The Inter-connect dissemination event

Into the European Mobility Week 2018 framework in the Pedestrian Road of Igoumenitsa, in the center of the city, the event took place at Igoumenitsa on 22nd of September.

It was disseminated through the Social Media of the Municipality of Igoumenitsa, through theEMW2018 Facebook Page and through the social media of Inter-connect project.

Several participants attent at the event such as Mr. Pantelis Karapiperis, The Inter-connect Project Manager, Mrs. Spyridoula Tsimouri, Architect, Mrs. Giannoula Tzovara, Civil Engineer, Mrs. Christina Gogolou, Architect, Members of Inter-Connect Team.

An online questionnaire was designed and distributed to collect several information from strategic stakeholders.
