On October 29th, Margit Kuuse, Project Manager at ITL, joined the final event of the H2MA project in Marghera, organised by Codognotto and Venice Sustainability Foundation.

For the past 3 years, the project has supported the expansion of green hydrogen mobility infrastructure across the Alps, to facilitate the transition towards green transport solutions and reduce CO₂ emissions.

Participants travelled to the Venice Heritage Tower on a hydrogen-powered bus, one of four already operating in the Municipality of Venice. During the conference, speakers provided an overview of ongoing hydrogen efforts and discussed current strategies and challenges.

In particular, companies shared their experiences and highlighted key barriers such as high costs and the lack of refuelling infrastructure, while H2MA partners presented the different situations in their respective countries, ranging from well-advanced national strategies and hydrogen valleys to early-stage developments.

For ITL, which is currently participating in the H2CE project, the event provided a valuable opportunity to learn from other projects and explore the state of hydrogen implementation in Italy and beyond. The sector is still in its early stages, but continued collaboration and innovation are steadily driving its growth.
