On February 11th-12th, ITL was in Berlin to take part in a workshop organised within the H2CE project and hosted by the Reiner Lemoine Institut. Andrei Turlea, Junior Researcher at ITL, worked alongside project partners to explore how to develop and strengthen regional strategies for green hydrogen. Hydrogen can play a crucial role as a clean energy vector, a system stabilizer, and a key enabler of a decarbonized economy.

A key focus of the discussions was how to implement the tools and frameworks developed within H2CE, including:

  • An open-source energy cell model to optimize hydrogen systems
  • A GIS-based framework for mapping energy consumption
  • A voucher mechanism to incentivize green hydrogen initiatives
  • Regional competence centers to drive innovation

The Emilia-Romagna Region is working to promote the transition to more sustainable energy, and ITL is supporting the administration’s efforts by providing tools and expertise to strengthen the regional economy, mobility sector, and energy ecosystem. Through H2CE, the Foundation provides planning tools and best practices, while also actively engaging within Clust-ER Greentech to accelerate the shift toward green energy.
