On May 8th and 9th, ITL took part in the fourth CYROS project meeting in Rijeka. CYROS, funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia program, aims to improve and expand the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route, by mapping it and developing a series of multimodal services to support cyclists.
During the meeting, project partners reviewed ongoing activities aimed at enhancing and promoting cycling tourism mobility along the route. ITL had the opportunity to present our work on:
-
the development of a webGIS platform to harmonize cycle tourism data across the different regions and counties involved;
-
the creation of common standards to monitor cycling flows along the Adriatic cycle route;
-
the organization of training events on the topic, with key local and regional stakeholders.
By working to connect cycling paths with different public transport options, the project will continue to support sustainable cycling tourism across borders.
