On March 26th and 27th, the General Assembly of the Interreg Italy-Croatia CROSSFREIGHT project, coordinated by ITL, was held in Rijeka.
The meeting, hosted at the Hall Glagoljice of the University of Rijeka, had a strong operational focus, featuring in-depth technical discussions on the optimization of railway shunting operations, as well as workshops and roundtables where partners worked side by side on designing the pilot actions set to begin in the coming months.
Andrea Minardi and Anna Esposito from the North-Central Adriatic Sea Port Authority, ITL’s associated partner in the project, also joined the consortium in Rijeka to present the port’s digitalization projects and provide an important opportunity for exchange with the Interreg Italy-Croatia CRESPORT project.
To conclude the meeting, two site visits were organised. The first took place at the Jadranska Vrata container terminal at the Port of Rijeka, where Saša Radivojević and Nikola Rodin guided partners through operations and presented future development scenarios for the Rijeka hub. The second visit focused on the railway line from the Port of Rijeka to Škrljevo Station, where Tihomir Jandik from TRANSAGENT explained its key features, including a 26‰ incline over 51 km.
