11th Steering Committee Meeting of VIth Pan-European Transport Corridor and Baltic-Ad

Emilia-Romagna Regione and the Institute for  Transport and Logistics (ITL) are strongly active in supporting the development of the European transport corridors and axes, also thanks to the participation to specific EU-funded projects.

Emilia-Romagna is a nodal area in the European transport network, both as industrial and economic basin feeding the EU transport networks and as infrastructural node which ensures connectivity to the Italian economic system and as connecting area between Central Europe and the Mediterranean area.

The TEN-T policy review and the relevant priority projects definition process is ongoing and it is expected to be finalized in 2009.

Following this process the Steering Committee of the Pan-European Transport Corridor VI Danzig-Vienna asked to Emilia-Romagna Region to host in Bologna the next Steering Committee meeting, with the perspective of extending the Corridor to Bologna/Ravenna, as nodal area to/from the Mediterranean and Adriatic area and as junction point with Priority Project n. 1 (Berlin - Palermo).

Emilia Romagna Region, in cooperation with ITL and with the support of Interporto Bologna and Ravenna Port Authority, will host in Bologna on the 29th and 30th June 2009 the next Steering Committee meeting of the Pan-European Transport Corridor VI, chaired by the Polish Ministry of Transport, in order to share and project a joint working path aimed at promoting an integrated transport and infrastructural development of the Corridor within the UE transport backbone.

The meeting foresees the participation of transport operators and institutional representatives of the Corridor countries, regions and transport nodes.
